WHICH TEST SHOULD I CHOOSE?

Choose Antigen:

The rapid antigen test is used to screen for SARS-CoV-2 and is authorized under emergency use by the FDA
The antigen test is very accurate in detecting SARS-CoV-2
In general, antigen testing is more affordable than PCR testing

Choose PCR:

If for any reason you question the results of your antigen (i.e., you test positive but have no symptoms or you test negative but have COVID-19 symptoms), then it is recommended that you follow up with a PCR test for confirmation.
If required by an Airline, employer, medical provider, or any other entity who may specifically request that you take a PCR aka molecular or NAAT test (note that many private agencies can require persons to take a specific test)
PCR testing is very accurate.
Due to differences in assays, in general PCR tests are more costly than antigen tests.

How It Works

All tests are by appointment only.
Once you have selected an appointment time you will need to sign up for Intend with your name, email address, and mobile phone number. Intend is a HIPAA-compliant platform that is used to deliver your test results securely and privately.
Next, you must complete a profile document. Your profile includes your age, sex, the name and number of your primary care physician, your insurance information, a credit card for payment, and a few questions about the reason for your test.

Testing Instructions

Note: you will collect your own sample for testing. A pharmacist will provide you with a nasal swab and supervise your sample collection.

Tilt your head back 70 degrees.
Gently insert the sterile swab into the nostril. Using gentle rotation, push the swab until resistance is met at the level of the turbinates, less than one (1) inch (about 2 cm) into the nostril.
Rotate the swab a few times against the nasal wall and then remove the swab from the nostril.

COVID-19 Testing Frequently Asked Questions

What are the primary symptoms of COVID-19?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), people with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:

Cough
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Fever
Chills
Muscle pain
Sore throat
New loss of taste or smell

This list is not all possible symptoms. Other less common symptoms have been reported, including gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.

What should I do if I'm experiencing severe symptoms?

If you or a family member are experiencing severe symptoms, please call your doctor. If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 911.

Am I required to show ID?

Yes. Bring a form of personal identification to your test. This helps ensure that your test results are matched to the right person. Your identity and your test results are protected by federal law and will not be shared with any other agencies for purposes of law enforcement or immigration.

Is the test invasive?

No. We use a nasal swab that must be inserted only about 2 cm into the nostril, until some resistance is met. You will collect your nasal sample yourself under the supervision of a pharmacist.

Is the test accurate?

The Rapid Antigen test uses advanced immunofluorescence-based lateral flow technology in a sandwich design for qualitative detection of nucleocapsid protein from SARS-CoV-2. The test provides automated and objective results in 15 minutes.

When do I need to arrive for my appointment?

Please arrive at the scheduled time listed on your confirmation email.

How long will the test take?

The testing process should not take more than 10 minutes. Results will be available same-day.
